When you have a disobedient dog, it's important to know the difference between disobedience and incomprehension. If your dog doesn't understand what you want him to do, he's not being disobedient -- but he does need to be taught the command and the desired behavior, and be trained to perform reliably. When he knows what you want him to do, but chooses not to do it, that's disobedience.
